Student Employment @UO

What makes working at the UO unique?

Part-time employment at the University of Oregon gives students a unique opportunity to work where they learn. At the UO, student employees are students first. Their education is our top priority. As employees, students:

  • Gain valuable on-the-job experience to complement their education.
  • Work alongside professional staff, and in some instances faculty, who are invested in their future and champion their success.
  • Get scheduling flexibility. Supervisors expect availability to change each term and coordinate with student employees to schedule their work hours around their class schedule.

Student Jobs

There are a variety of jobs available across our campuses designed especially for UO students. Positions are available in almost every unit, school, and college. While most are entry-level, requiring no specialized skill or previous experience, some do require training and previously acquired expertise.

What you need to know:

  • Positions are part-time; student employees can work up to 25 hours per week.
  • Employment laws, regulations, and UO policies extend to student employees, such as meal and rest periods, health and safety, and protections against harassment and discrimination.
  • Supervisors will schedule work assignments based on your class schedule.
  • The selection process is competitive; keep applying.
